  • d. Cookies and Tracking Technologies: While the VidFluency mobile app uses secure tokens for authentication, any related web properties use cookies to enhance user experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the VidFluency service and account synchronization.

  • Process images/video through OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to help you extract text and create new words.

  • Deliver push notifications for study reminders and updates.

  • Troubleshoot app performance via crash diagnostics.

  • Comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse of the platform.

3. How We Protect Your Information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption: Using Firebase’s secure infrastructure to protect account data.

  • Local Storage: Saved words are stored locally on your device by default.

  • Access Control: Restricted access to backend diagnostics and authentication records. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data in these scenarios:

  • With Service Providers: Specifically Google Firebase (Authentication/Crashlytics) and Apple/Google (Payment Processing) to perform essential app functions.

  • GDPR Rights: As we are based in Cyprus, EU/UK users have rights to data portability, restriction, and objection.

  • Opt-out: You may revoke Camera, Photos, or Notification permissions at any time via your device settings.

Our app may contain links to third-party sites. VidFluency is not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their specific privacy policies.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We implement age-gating and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. Data Retention

We retain account-related information while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed from our servers. Saved words remain on your device until the app is uninstalled or data is cleared manually.
